Hi there! I’m Riley, the original Golden Doodle for Brighter Pathways. In fact, I was an “unofficial” Doodle before we became considered Designer Breeds because of our no/low shedding and hypoallergenic qualities. I was born in April 1999, so I turned 11 this year. I think I’m Dr. M.’s favorite!

LACY
Here I am being a mom! This was the second day of my second litter. I had 8 puppies each time! As all you mothers can attest to, there is a reason it is called “labor!” Still, I love all my babies and am so happy I still have two of my daughters at home. I turned 5 in April. I think I’m Dr. M.’s favorite!

KELSEY
I’m still brand new to the world. I was in Lacy’s second litter, born January 2009. My disposition is sweet and mellow, and my favorite thing in the whole world is BELLY RUBS!! I love running, jumping and playing, and I’m going to work hard to earn my patches for my Therapy Dog vest. I think I’m Dr. M.’s favorite!

Therapy Dogs
VALARIE
Don’t you just love it when people dress up their dogs like people? My name’s Valarie because I was born near Valentine’s Day 2 years ago–and because Larie (my human big sister) selected me as the pick of the litter! I am very precocious and beautiful, if not quite as well-behaved as the rest of the troop. I think I’m Dr. M.’s favorite!

A relatively new aspect to the practice is Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT), for which Dr. Messenger and her four (hypoallergenic) Golden Doodles have had special training. One or more Therapy Dogs may be invited into the office only with parental consent. They sometimes participate in sessions when appropriate, but usually it’s their job just to visit with kids while parents are consulting with Dr. Messenger separately.
